What are skin tags?

The medical term for a skin tag is “acrochordon”, it is a small growth of tissue that is flesh coloured, frequently they are only a few millimetres in size they have been known to get over 4cms. However, they are harmless and look a bit like a wart. They are thought to develop due to rubbing or chaffing of clothes or skin, and usually in older people or those who are overweight. Usually found on the neck or chest, under the armpits or breasts, or in the groin area. They are not malignant, more unsightly and can be uncomfortable or become irritated if clothing or jewellery rubs against them.

In more conspicuous areas they can be a source of embarrassment or concern, but they are very easily removed

testimonials

“I had a very large skin tag on my left side, I was a bit worried about it and kept putting off going to see the doctor. I found Lynnes ad online and called her, Lynne advised me on what it was and after applying a local anaesthetic, burnt it off. There was a tiny stinging sensation and that was it, gone! Lynne put me at ease throughout the process and I will definitely return if I have anymore skin tags appear. ” Brett, Norwich
